I'm not sure if anyone is still having issues with the "featured box" category showing up in the nav bar, but what I did to make that category disappear was edit the header.php file.

Look for: "<?php wp_list_categories…" and type in:

            <?php wp_list_categories('title_li=&sort_column=name&exclude=category id's being excluded'); ?>

Just a heads up that I've started a page on the wiki dedicated to synthesizing information about Gazette. Feel free to contribute information to it, or synthesize common questions and answers from this thread to it. You should be able to log in with your forum/WordPress account, and I can up your permissions if you need it.

First off we're having two problems…our comment button isn't working. If you type something in the comment field and then click submit, nothing happens. However if the field is blank and you push submit, it goes to a new page and says please leave a comment.

Also, any suggestions to get feedburner up and completely optimized?

I haven't come across something like that. Are you using any plug-ins to manage comments or preview them before submitting?

Also, depending on which version of the Gazette Theme you are using, you may have to edit the sidebar.php.

Make sure to establish Feedburner through Gazette Theme options. If you're having trouble subscribing to FeedBurner even after all your settings have been configured, you might want to:

1. Go to your theme folder.

2. Open sidebar.php (Make a duplicate just in case you're not sure what you're doing or in case something goes wrong).

3. Locate "http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/emailverifySubmit?feedId=" and replace the link with "http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri="

4. Hit save, then upload and try to subscribe again.

I recently figured out this bug: we didn't raise the header height in the CSS.

We also wanted to change how often the "Popular" stories tabs refreshes. In Popular.php, there is a value for "$lastmonth". Is there a way to change it to only the last two weeks?

Thanks,
Chris

First bit of advice: make sure you have a backup you can revert to. Only after that should you hack away :)

Can you copy and paste the code you think guides how often the "Popular" stories tab refreshes? It sounds like you may be able to change the $lastmonth value to something else
